Major Joseph Pilmsoll Edwards (1857-1930) was born in Clarence, Ontario, and lived in Montreal and in Londondary and in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He was joint editor of Canadian in 1890 and edited 'Dominion Illustrated' in 1891 and 'Dominion Illustrated Monthly' in 1892-3. He wrote 'Louisbourg: An Historical Sketch' (1895). (Cf.
